Exhibition
The
W.C.C.W.M. exhibit resembles a 19th Century clock maker's shop. Visitors
are amazed at the scope of the collection and the examples of
craftsmanship in each timepiece. The collection currently showcases
hundreds of clocks and watches, some of which are their only know
examples. The exhibit is popular with youth and senior groups. In the
first year of operation, the exhibit had over 100,000 visitors.
Included
in the exhibit are some fine examples of statue clocks, case clocks,
regulators, American and European examples. The curator has attempted to
include at least one example of each advancement in the science of
timekeeping. As design and material improvements were made, so too was
accuracy and dependability.
Each piece in the exhibit has been donated by members of
the supporting chapter. Please contact the curator regarding special loans
or limited displays as the Museum will host timepieces from around the
world. Any upcoming events will be posted in News.
The
exhibits include information kiosks. The kiosks are designed to be an
interactive resource for you or your group members. For youth or school
groups, we are more than happy to include a scavenger guide and questionnaire,
to help direct their attention.
